First Uncharted 4 gameplay video shows 15 minutes of action

Sony used the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas over the weekend to reveal the first Uncharted 4: A Thief's End gameplay footage.

Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli said of the 15-minute playthrough in an accompanying PlayStation Blog post: "Although we are still in the pre-alpha stage of development, everything you see in the video is in-game and in real-time running at 1080p and a stable 30hz.

"It's looking pretty spectacular already and we still have quite some time to optimise and refine our technology to make this the best looking and playing Uncharted game to date."

The character who appears at the end of the demo and refers to Drake in brotherly terms is voiced by Troy Baker, who also portrayed Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite and Joel in The Last of Us, among other notable video game performances.

Uncharted 4 was announced for release in 2015 during Sony's E3 press conference in June. The PS4 game stars an older Nathan Drake who has been out of the fortune hunting game for several years. Forced back into the world of thieves, he sets out on a globetrotting adventure in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.

Monacelli said Naughty Dog will be "trickling out more details" about the game "soon".
