Animation director Rob Nelson described it as a "very intense, in-your-face experience… literally. "Obviously, we felt like one of the most compelling things you could do to make an experience people have had before feel different was the new first-person mode," he added.

GTA 5 will launch on new-gen consoles on November 18 and PC on January 17, 2015.

As well as high resolutions and increased draw distances, the versions will add new weapons, denser traffic, enhanced damage and weather effects, additional wildlife, 100 new songs and DJ mixes, and a new foliage system.

Grand Theft Auto Online will see an increased player count, with up to 30 players on PS4 and Xbox One, and all existing upgrades and Rockstar-created content carry over to the new versions. Returning fans will receive bonus items.
