Halo: MCC owners receive one month Xbox Live Gold free

May 4, 2013
s here: anyone who played Halo: Master Chief Collection online on or before December 19 of last year is eligible to receive a whole month of free Xbox Live Gold, the service which grants access to each month's free games, as well as a big lovely pile of other online benefits.

But that's just the beginning of the "we're sorry" gifts - players will also receive an exclusive in-game nameplate and avatar (so everyone knows you were one of the lucky few to get shafted), the campaign for Halo 3: ODST in 1080p and 60fps, as well as a "re-imagined" version of the Relic multiplayer map from Halo 2: Anniversary, which will be released to all online users in a future update.

The Xbox Live Gold will be delivered around mid-January, and the rest will be released as part of updates across "Spring 2015".

There are quite a few terms and conditions on the 343 Industries blog, if you want to read exciting details like "do I still need the disc".

Does this make up for bad online? Would you rather have a good game than an apology for a bad one? Let us know in the comments below.
