Handheld SteamOS gaming device to be launched

Do you enjoy playing games on your smart phone, well this device is for you. One manufacturer is hoping the growth in smart phone gaming doesn't spell the end of dedicated hand-held gamin devices as they prepare to launch a hand held SteamOS gaming device.

This will be the first device that will let you play Steam games on the go states the company behind the device, the company behind the device are called Steamboy Machine. They say you will be able to play your favourite games at the bus stop, the school, the office or on the go.

The device was officially unveiled with a teaser video at E3 2014 gaming expo, and the team behind it told The Escapist that the SteamBoy will include a quad-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, along with both 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

It's design share some common elements with official steam controller that was revealed earlier this year with similar controls on either side of the 5-inch touch screen.

A spokesperson for the company added: "SteamBoy won't be as powerful as other announced Steam Machines, in the same way [that the] Nintendo DS or PS Vita performance is not comparable to a Wii U or PlayStation 4. However, it will be possible to play the majority of current games in Steam."
