If a leak on leak on Facebook (via Eurogamer) is to be believed there will be an open beta for The Division later this month. The current closed beta is due to end shortly but the Facebook page has revealed that there will be a longer open beta on the way.

The beta will run from 16th to 21st February including a 24 hour head start for Xbox One players. Once the beta starts you will need to downlod the beta client and start playing. The current beta required you to have pre-ordered the game or have signed up to the wait list for the beta.

Having played the beta over the weekend it did have a few oddities occur but overall was very good, hopefully this new beta is real and gives everyone another chance to try out the game.

Ubisoft has announced that everyone can now per-load The Division beta on all platforms ahead of it starting on Thursday, February 18 on Xbox One, the next day on PC and PlayStation 4.

The download is around 27 GB, although if you have the closed beta client all you need to do is download the 1.6GB update.

The beta brings new content in the form of a new Tech mission. This mission gives you access to another wing of your operation centre, and a new skill to boot. The game's Dark Zone, however, received a lot of tweaks, and they'll definitely be worth checking out.

Your progress won't carry over from the closed beta, or to the full game come March.
