PlayStation Now invites you to download PS2 and PS4 games

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that you will now be able to download a range of PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 4 games using PlayStation Now, allowing you to play games offline.

Nearly all of the PS4 games available on the cloud-based streaming service will be available to download to your console, including Bloodborne, God of War 3 Remastered, and Until Dawn. The feature is being rolled out from today, so you should see the download option soon enough, if not right away.

You'll still need to hook your PS4 up to the net a few times a week to verify your PS Now subscription, but otherwise you can easily plump for playing games offline once they're downloaded.

Sony's also revealed that you can continue playing a game locally if you've previously started streaming a game, simply by moving your save file across using PlayStation Plus.

Finally, the format holder also reminded gamers that you can still sign up for a 12-month PS Now membership for $99.99, though the offer only lasts until September 25.
