This year's Call of Duty to be named Vanguard per report, taking series back to WW2

May 4, 2013
As in previous years leaks have started to appear claiming to know the title of the next Call of Duty game, according to the leaks the next game in the franchise will be titled Call of Duty: Vanguard.

The latest leaks come from Eurogamer who claim the game will take you back to World War 2. The last time a COD game took place here was in 2017 with Call of Duty: WWII. The studio developing that title, Sledgehammer Games, are also rumoured to be leading development on the next title in the series.

While Activision has confirmed a new Call of Duty will be launching in 2021, take the Vanguard World War 2 information with a grain of salt until the publisher officially announces the game. It's likely that the ongoing free-to-play battle royale experience Warzone will once again be utilized to tease and reveal the next entry much like Black Ops Cold War.
