Valve are making a move in to video game streaming with a new service for Steam that launched in beta today. The service will allow other steam users to watch live broadcasts without leaving steam.
Valve are advertising the service as 'watch friends play, with the click of a button', there is also an option to make your broadcast public so that anyone can watch you game. This is the option that puts the service in competition with twitch.
The service works within the steam client but also works with Chrome & Safari.
For the moment broadcasts are only available live so you wont be able to share your stream to watch later.
To use the feature you need to sign up for the Steam beta.
