Xbox One Runs Windows

    Microsoft has revealed that its new console is powered by Windows Kernel, and that it will use the proprietary Xbox interface for games.

    Rumors about the new Xbox running Windows 8 have been circulating for over a year, following the unveiling of Windows 8 in 2011. While Windows 8 wasn't mentioned specifically, we at least know the Xbox One will use Windows Kernel to run everything outside of games.
