So, how'd you like to fill your Xbox One hard drive with a huge chunk of game literal hours, minutes and/or seconds before you're actually able to play it? Then pre-order Destiny without further ado via the Xbox store.

After a leak yesterday, Microsoft has confirmed that pre-ordering players can download the game before its official release on 9th September. It won't be playable, however, till 12.01am PDT or 3.01am EDT on the day itself. Yes, this is the venerated concept known as "pre-loading", of which our esteemed friends the PC gamers have told us so much.

"Once purchase is complete, download this game by selecting the "Manage" button on the product details page on your console," notes the page. Both the vanilla and the special Digital Guardian edition are available for pre-order - here's what you get with the latter, in handy bullet-point format:

- A digital download copy of Destiny
- Access to the Vanguard Armory and Emblem pre-order bonus
- An exclusive Ghost casing, ship design, and Player Emblem
- Access to two upcoming Destiny Expansions that will offer "all-new storylines, new cooperative and competitive activities, and new weapons, armour, and gear to earn"

The price is shown in dollars using the above links, not sure if this would work for the UK or not.
